Sailing in Croatia with your catamaran

One of my favourite moments in travel: the preparation! Actually, it is even one of the most exciting parts in travelling! Which destination? Which path? We asked worldwide catamaran dealers to tell us about their favourite sailing area. Nautika centar Nava was the first to take the plunge and to share with us some tips for a cruise in Croatia:
Untamed, rich, diverse, stunning, extraordinary, surprising, hospitable, sunny, warm, delicious… all these could describe Croatia but you still wouldn’t have an exact idea of the country! Situated in the Mediterranean but with a sea of its own – the Adriatic, Croatia has been a desirable place even since ancient Greece times. They already travelled by boat then and it is still the best way to discover Croatia.
THE TOP 3 MOORING SPOTS OR HARBOUR
The island Vis – enjoy a gastro treat, casual atmosphere and incredible hospitality in one of the superb restaurants in Kut, in Vis or in Komiza.
As the extension of the Kornati National park, the bay of Telascica is a Nature park and one of the safest harbours in the Adriatic. Impressive cliffs, rich underwater life, breathtaking views – it’s all there.
In Palmizana, one of the Pakleni archipelago islands, you can choose a safe and modern marina to moor or if weather conditions allow it any of the secluded bays. From here you can either visit the popular town of Hvar via boat Taxi or explore the gastronomic offers of the island.
A ROUTE?
Sail on your cat and visit the rich culture (6 sites inscribed in the UNESCO world heritage list) and nature (4 of 8 national parks along with 2 natural parks are sea-related).
It would make an interesting 14-day route: Episcopal Complex of the Euphrasian Basilica in Porec –> NP Brijuni –> NP Kornati and Nature park Telascica –> NP Krka Waterfalls –> St. James Cathedral in Sibenik –> Historic City of Trogir –> Historical Complex of Split with Diocletian’s palace –> Stari Grad Plain on the island of Hvar –> Nature park of Lastovo –> NP Mljet –> Old City of Dubrovnik.
